The regional workshop on the launching of the preparatory Mediterranean process for the 8th World Water Forum, that will take place from 18 to 23 March 2018 in Brazil, was held on 11 July 2017.

This event was organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Mediterranean Water Institute (IME), both managers of this process, in partnership with the Foundation Albert II de Monaco. Held in Monaco, it gathered about fifty participants and enabled to launch the first works that will be presented at the World Water Forum, at the end of 2017.

On this occasion, IPEMED and Medcités, coordinators of the topic “Integrated Urban Water & Waste Management”, organised a first work meeting aiming to define the objectives, the roadmap and the deliverables to reach by the time of the Mediterranean Water Forum. Duly recording the release of the last 2017 United Nations global report on the development of water resources, dedicated to “waste water, an untapped resource”, IPEMED and Medcités, in collaboration with UfM, IME and other topic’s managers, are willing to look deeper into the following issue: How to improve the reuse of treated waste waters and muds from treatment plants in Mediterranean urban and peri-urban zones?

If you wish to take part in the permanent work group that will be implemented, do not hesitate to get in touch with Kelly ROBIN, Project Manager at IPEMED.
