A former deputy, Mounir Abdel Nour was the secretary general of the liberal and secular party Wafd. A former Minister of Tourism, he resigned and in November 2012, he took part in the creation of the Front national du Salut, of which he became a member of the management committee and then the secretary general. On 16 July 2013, he reintegrated the Government as Minister of Trade and Industry and remained so through five successive governments until 18 September 2015.

The former minister will help IPEMED to better understand the Egyptian issues in terms of industrial dynamics. He will also give us his opinion on the potential co-production between North-African countries and the European Union.

On 26 September 2016, when he came to Paris for a strategic meeting organised by Ipemed, Mounir Abdel Nour agreed to give us his opinion, in a short video, on the main challenges facing Egypt in terms of industrialisation and co-production with its neighbouring countries.

According to Mounir Abdel Nour, the goal of Egypt is to build its economy on a modern industrial model.
