IPEMED and EMA sign an MOU to establish a partnership

IPEMED and the association Euro-Mediterran-Arabischer Länderverein, better known under the name EMA signed an MOU on October 7, 2015, during the 3rd Forum of the Maghreb, annually organized by EMA in Berlin. Jean-Louis Guigou, General Delegate IPEMED delivered a speech on this occasion, related to the overhaul of the Euro-Mediterranean agricultural and agri-food partnership, for a common agricultural production and increased food security of countries of the South the Mediterranean.

EMA, chaired by Christian WULFF, former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, has set for itself the mission of expanding and deepening cooperation between Germany and the countries of the Arab League and the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership through the promotion of trade and the intensification of sociopolitical and economic development cooperation.

The partnership between IPEMED and EMA aims to promote initiatives with the objective of strengthening economic cooperation of both sides of the Mediterranean, to propose economic projects that foster regional integration, to create opportunities for meetings and partnerships between members of EMA and IPEMED and to leverage the expertise and production of the think tank IPEMED and the expertise of EMA to anticipate changes in the region.

A monitoring committee composed of representatives IPEMED and EMA will be set up to ensure regular monitoring of programmed actions.
