PRESS RELEASE: Death of Xavier Beulin - IPEMED deplores the loss of an exceptional man

Published : Monday 20 February 2017

It is with great sadness that we heard of Xavier Beulin’s death, on 19th February 2017, in Paris. Aged 58, the President of the FNSEA (National Federation of Farmers’ Unions) was an exceptional man who had a real vision of the Mediterranean and African worlds.

Jean-Louis Guigou, President of IPEMED, reacted to the news in these terms: “Xavier Beulin was an exceptional man who understood before anyone else the interest of the Mediterranean for France and for Europe. We will miss his visionary philosophy.

Since the creation of our think tank in 2006, Xavier Beulin had been quite committed to IPEMED, first as a founding member and then as President of our Supervisory Board from 2013 to 2016. A voluntary, visionary, ambitious, activist man, he always took part in our events and he internationalised our think tank. During his presidency, he mobilised more Southern and Eastern Mediterranean businesses. For him, getting over the North-South global vision was necessary.

Xavier Beulin, a relentless Mediterranean activist, widely contributed to the development and improvement of our ideas and actions. Here, we would like to pay tribute to this exceptional man and offer our sincere condolences to his family.
