Euromed Postal: e-commerce at the heart of posts’ reflections
On 8 and 9 March 2016, the Euromed Postal, the posts Euro-Mediterranean network, gathered in Malta. On the agenda were workshops on postal services, financial services and e-commerce.
While economies are digitalising and e-commerce is emerging in all Euro-Mediterranean countries, new business and cooperation opportunities are emerging. The posts, as significant actors of parcel delivery and logistics, are at the core of this revolution. They are trying to find new sources of growth, to imagine the new services they could offer their clients, as well as new opportunities to share bilateral or multilateral experiences and cooperations. Such is the objective of the work sessions organised throughout these two days.
For the work group dedicated to postal services and that dedicated to e-commerce, Alain Ducass, IPEMED associate-expert, presented an overview of the report on e-commerce in the Mediterranean and Africa (to be published at the end of March). He also shared his vision on the main challenges e-commerce represents for posts.
