On Monday 10 July, broadcasted live on France Télévisions, Jean-Louis Guigou, President of IPEMED, was interviewed by Jean-Paul Chapel, head of the economic department, during the daily programme “L’éco”.
He exposed his vision and got the opportunity to talk about La Verticale Africa - Mediterranean - Europe, with a map to support his statement.

“Developed but ageing Northern countries are trying to cooperate with young and emerging Southern countries. In this regard, Europe has fallen behind.” explained Jean-Louis Guigou.
“The G20 - that took place in Hamburg on 7 and 8 July - tried to find solutions but it will be necessary to go way beyond what was decided” continued the President of IPEMED.
This economic alliance is struggling to emerge. Is Jean-Louis Guigou an idealist? He answered this thorny question: “President Sarkozy already asked me this question. I told him that I was cooperating with him simply because the capital and manufacturers were already at work.”
“Big companies consider that good deals are no longer in China or in America but in the Mediterranean space. This space is not structured. At the current pace, it might take 20 or 30 years, but if politicians take action, it could be very fast!” explained Jean-Louis Guigou.
