Take part in the Mediterranean Climate Change Adaptation Awards!

As Mediterranean actors, ADEME and its partners - MEDENER, Union for the Mediterranean, Plan Bleu, the Mediterranean Commission for United Cities and local Government (Med Commission CGLU) as well as the Mediterranean experts of climate change (MedECC) - are launching a competition in order to highlight your actions and encourage Mediterranean actors to adapt to climate change.

The projects you present must fall into one of the following categories:

  • Developments, infrastructures and buildings;
  • Ecosystems and natural resources;
  • Design and implementation methods for public policies.

Following this competition, the winners of each category will be invited to take part in COP 22 that will take place in Marrakesh in November 2016. The actions of the winners will then be highlighted in a dedicated publication published by ADEME and its partners, as well as during international conferences in 2017.

Who can apply?

Open until the 16th of September 2016, this competition is open to local authorities, universities, public agencies and NGOs in partnership with local actors implementing actions and projects for climate change adaptation in the Mediterranean bio-climatic area. 

All or part of the following countries are concerned: Albania, Algeria, Palestinian Authority, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Mauritania, Portugal, Slovenia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey.
