The 8th World Water Forum will take place in Brasilia from 18 to 23 March 2018. The preparatory Mediterranean process managed by the Mediterranean Water Institute and the Union for the Mediterranean, has been a unique opportunity to mobilise all the stakeholders and to make original propositions to ensure access to water and sanitation for all in the Mediterranean.

Appointed as coordinators of the working group on the “urban” topic, IPEMED and the Medcities network wished to take advantage of this process to highlight the know-how of cities and operators in terms of reuse of treated waste water (REUSE); as this topic was the main subject of the last United Nations report on the development of water resources.

Learning from past experiences, sharing and spreading information, taking into account the opinion of field actors... such are the objectives of this report, which was written in partnership with the Euromed Cities Network, the International Office for Water (IOWater), the Euro-Mediterranean Information System on Know-How in the Water Sector (EMWIS), and the experts involved in the Working Group.
